Timber in swimming pool hall construction

TRADA image

With its aesthetic appeal, thermal insulation, acoustic properties and resistance to the chemicals frequently used in swimming pools timber represents a straightforward choice for swimming pool construction. Despite its suitability for swimming pool construction, there are still a number of considerations to be made when specifying timber for the job.

This Wood Information Sheet (WIS) details good practice when constructing timber swimming pool halls including the precautions which must be taken to minimise the risk of damage from condensation

  • Special considerations
  • Wall, roof and floor constructions
  • External joinery
  • Interior joinery and trim
  • Fixings
  • Heating and ventilation
