State of Trade Survey 2016 Q2

Against a backdrop of uncertainty ahead of the EU referendum on 23 June, construction product manufacturers reported strong activity in Q2, marking a thirteenth consecutive quarter of growth. On the heavy side, a balance of 52% of firms reported an increase in sales during the quarter, marking the highest balance in a year. For firms on the light side, quarterly product sales increased according to a balance of 38% of respondents. There was a clear weakening in forward-looking indicators during the quarter, however.
