Construction Trade Survey May 2018
The Construction Trade Survey for 2018 Q1 showed the opening three months of the year were downbeat for UK construction. Heavy side construction product manufacturers reported a fall in sales during the quarter, civil engineering contractors’ workloads declined for a second consecutive quarter and output declined for specialist contractors. Output, sales and workloads balances remained positive for main contractors, light side product manufacturers and SME builders, respectively, but these were the lowest balances in two years.
