Mr E. Bryan Latham, eBE, MM, BA. welcomed His Royal Highness Prince Richard the Duke of Gloucester to TRADA saying that. as a practical architect "you must be the natural target for any organisation with a new building to open". Mr Latham explained that at present TRADA has a unique building but that it is hoped that it will have many imitators as people see the advantages of applying the timber frame system to office construction, using large dimension tropical hardwood timbers as the main structural members.
