The annual search for the UK’s best-performing timber products suppliers is firmly underway, with online voting now live in the 25th anniversary TTJ Awards.

This year’s TTJ Awards will be a hybrid event – with a physical awards luncheon on September 17 in central London and live digital streaming of the event to a wider online audience. It is aimed at the whole timber products supply chain and its customers.

Voting is open until July 22 and allows customers of the timber products trade – including architects, contractors, structural timber systems suppliers, merchants, joinery manufacturers, garden product producers, furniture makers, timber product manufacturers and others – to vote for their best performing suppliers.

Details of this year’s TTJ Awards, including online voting and details of how to attend the awards luncheon, can be accessed on the new event platform. Entries can also be made to the judged categories, which are returning in 2021 after a break at last year’s virtual event.

The top voted category is the Timber Trader of the Year – sponsored by Timber Development UK – which recognises the best all-rounder in the timber trade dealing across multiple product categories. Timber Development UK has been formed by the recent merger of the Timber Trade Federation and TRADA and its new branding will be launched in the coming months.

Other voted categories include:

  • Softwood Trader of the Year;
  • Hardwood Trader of the Year;
  • Panels Trader of the Year;
  • Joinery Products Supplier of the Year;
  • Structural Timber Systems Supplier of the Year;
  • Timber Merchant of the Year;
  • Timber Garden Products Supplier of the Year; and
  • Small Timber Business of the Year.

Judged categories focus on:

  • Career Development;
  • Excellence in Marketing;
  • Environmental Achievement; and
  • Smart Manufacturing.

“We are excited to be planning a return to a live, in-person TTJ Awards in the 25th anniversary of the event,” said Stephen Powney, TTJ editor.

“It will be an opportunity for the timber industry to gather safely together again for the first time in almost a year and-a-half due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”
