New NSTS and Learning Resources documents available
TRADA has added several new downloadable documents to its current website including the new Project Specification Example and Project Template for the latest version of its National Structural Timber Specification (NSTS) and several new Learning Resources modules.
The NSTS gives the construction industry a set of best practice guidelines against which timber buildings can be erected. It streamlines the process of agreeing the specification for timber structures with clients, architects and engineers.
The new documents have updated the Specification using feedback from the users and key players in the timber industry. There are a number of changes from the launch version of the Project Specification template, primarily around additional guidance in areas like moisture content, tolerance, building services and remedial work.
There is also a new Project Specification Example providing clarity and guidance in a sample project, in this case a new sports hall and classrooms using cross-laminated timber with secondary glulam and steel elements.
The NSTS v1.1 is FREE to download to free registered users, however the Project Specification and Worked Example is only available to download to TRADA members.
Meanwhile the new Learning Resources modules build on the already-comprehensive suite of materials available for lecturers and students – and in fact anyone interested in the specific areas they cover. The new modules cover subjects such as Environmental Aspects of Wood, Timber as a Material and Construction Principles and Design.
All our Learning Resources are FREE to download to TRADA members, and those with student and access.
