TRADA expert talks timber frame at NHBC’s 'Building for tomorrow' seminar series
TRADA is delighted to announce that Robin Lancashire, Senior Timber Frame Consultant and co-author of Timber frame construction: designing for high performance 4th and 5th editions, is joining with NHBC to talk at a series of seminars around the UK in 2019.
NHBC’s unique access to data resulting from claims and 900,000+ site inspections each year allows them to pinpoint precise areas of need within the construction industry. Their annual seminar series Building for tomorrow was conceived with the goal of informing housebuilders and supplying them with the information and tools necessary to follow best practice, enabling them to build better buildings – something we are passionate about doing in timber here at TRADA.
This year the seminar series, whose 2019 theme is ‘Preparing for quality homes’, aims to interpret how changes to the market, resulting from Brexit, the skills shortage, supply chain and market challenges, will impact house building in the future. It will incorporate much talked about subjects such as framed constructions, off site manufacturing and Modern Methods of Construction.
Robin will talk to attendees about timber frame and some common issues highlighted during site inspections by NHBC; these include differential movement, trapped construction moisture, and durability of timber.
The series will run from the end of February to the end of April, and includes ten dates at various locations across the UK. For a date and place that suits you, please follow one of the links below.
The series will also host a range of product and technology providers at each event who complement NHBC’s comprehensive seminar programme. With up to 120 people in attendance per talk, it’s also an excellent opportunity to meet others in the industry.
Delegate tickets are £195 +VAT per person, per event, and include entry to the exhibition and conference, refreshments (including lunch), a delegate pack, and access to the presentations post-event. NHBC is running a 3 for 2 offer on tickets for a limited time only, so make sure to book as soon as possible to benefit
