The BM TRADA publications Getting started with… Chain of custody certification for forest products and Getting started with… Project certification for forest-based materials have been revised and the latest editions are now available for purchase in the BM TRADA Bookshop.

Getting started with... Chain of custody certification for forest products helps you to get started with the chain of custody process and focuses on the unbroken path which timber and paper products take from the forest to the consumer, including all stages of processing, manufacturing, transportation and distribution. It also underpins some of the issues that apply to the obligations under the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) introduced in March 2013 and the UK Timber Regulation (UKTR) 2020. It explains: what chain of custody certification is; who the key players and influencers are; who needs it; and how to obtain it.

The new edition includes updated information, including important changes to the key differences between FSC and PEFC, and amendments to risk assessments.

Getting started with… Project certification for forest-based materials, which helps you to navigate national and EU legislation, and meet your obligations when it comes to demonstrating that products specified and procured for construction projects are from sustainable sources, has also been revised. It explains: what timber sustainability is; who the key players and influencers are; what project certification is; who needs it; and how to obtain it.

It includes updates following the introduction of the UK Timber Regulation (UKTR) 2020 and changes to the key differences between FSC and PEFC.

Getting started with… Chain of custody certification for forest products 4th edition and Getting started with… Project certification for forest-based materials 2nd edition are now available as paperbacks or ebooks for £25.00 (zero VAT) in the BM TRADA Bookshop.
