Meet the Cities: Call for applicants

ReLondon, previously known as the London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB), will be hosting a Meet the Cities event in partnership with the Cities of London and Westminster in order to connect circular businesses to a range of public sector representatives and their construction suppliers.

Both City of London and Westminster City Council have been refining a responsible approach to procurement and considering climate implications in all decision-making. This includes incorporating more low-carbon, circular SMEs into their construction supply chains. They have identified three construction-sector challenges for which innovative solutions are being sought:

  1. Managing construction waste in a circular way
  2. Sourcing circular materials
  3. Reducing carbon through circularity

ReLondon, which intends to transform London into a circular city, is now looking for London-based small- and medium-sized businesses offering circular solutions that help boroughs create social value through newbuild, retrofit and demolition projects.

Selected SMEs will work closely with ReLondon’s business advisors and pitching expert in preparation for the in-person Meet the Cities event at Guildhall on 30 September 2021. They will have the opportunity to pitch how their solution supports local authority aims to representatives from City of London and Westminster City Council, and their suppliers.

By using their product or service to reduce waste and increase reuse, recycling, repairing and sharing, the Cities of London and Westminster aim to reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution, improve air quality, and support a thriving local economy.

To be considered, you must be a London-based SME and have a proven or well-developed circular, low-carbon product or service that is relevant to the construction industry. The deadline to apply is 16 August 2021.
