KnoWood: Knowledge Alliance for Sustainable Mid-Rise and Tall Wooden Buildings
TRADA and BM TRADA are participating in KnoWood, an Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliance for Sustainable Mid-Rise and Tall Wooden Buildings. It brings together Higher Education, Business and Research Organisations to stimulate the flow and exchange of knowledge about timber in medium- and high-rise buildings, where and how it’s used currently in the partners’ countries, what future knowledge and educational provision is necessary and how to best provide it.
The partners are: UK – TRADA and University of Westminster; Denmark – Via University College, Danish Technical Institute; Spain – Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, BarcelonaTech, HOUSE HABITAT; Lithuania – Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Study and Consulting Center, Registru centras, Idea Statika; and Canada – The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
The kick off meeting was held in Vilnius on 11 January in balmy temperatures of -100C; it had been -200C two days earlier. After each project partner had described their day job and what they could bring to the project, the main activities were assigned and work packages were drawn up.
An intensive training course is due to be held in Canada in the first week of June.
