Solutions-focused seminars

Join us on the Keynote Stages

The Keynote Stages offer solutions-focused content delivered by industry-leading partners, and share the latest thinking and research in order to educate, inform and inspire visitors to make a positive change. We're excited to be curating the following session on Keynote Stage Two:

Tuesday, 1 March 2022 (10:15–11:00): Overcoming the difficulties of building innovative construction systems: an alternative approach to mob-handed meetings with the insurers

Why is it so difficult to get innovative construction systems built, including some timber-based systems? And what can we do to tackle this? Relatively standard timber frame and SIPs constructions have been built in the UK for many decades, with lots of experience and expertise gained along the way.

The market is growing and any obstacles presented can generally be overcome. But this is not the case with more recent innovations where gaining traction is so much harder. And this at a time when government and many others are strongly encouraging the use of offsite, sustainable and innovative techniques to drive up quality and speed of construction.

Chair and introduction:

  • Rupert Scott, Consultant, BM TRADA

Panel:

  • Sam Hiller, Partner – Construction, Gallagher
  • Philip Callow, Underwriter, Chase Underwriting International
