A perfect partner for TRADA
TRADA is delighted to partner with Materials for Architecture 2018, a major exhibition and conference exploring the latest innovations for the timber age, which returns to the ILEC Conference Centre, London, from 25-26 April 2018.
Innovation will be a key theme across the event, which is dedicated to the development of materials for architecture, construction and design, and showcases the newest, most innovative timber themes within the built environment.
A stellar cast of experts from the world of architecture, engineering and academia are lined up to speak at the conference, including Kevin Flanagan, Partner at PLP Architecture, who will speak alongside Dr Mark Ramage, Senior Lecturer at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Natural Material Innovation, on the concept for London’s Oakwood Tower, a 300-metre-high timber tower. Jasmin Sohi, Senior Associate at dRMM, will discuss the use of hardwood cross-laminated timber (CLT) and engineered timber in Maggie’s Oldham, dRMM’s multi award-winning project, while Dr Hector Archila, CEO of Amphibia BASE, will demystify the use of bamboo in construction with his talk, Bamboo: beyond the hype.
Materials for Architecture 2018 combines a conference programme, exhibition, CPD seminars, material galleries and evening reception.
TRADA’s Rupert Scott says: “We are delighted to partner with Materials for Architecture 2018, which showcases recent advances made in the use of timber and wood-derived products. Wood is one of the construction industry’s oldest materials, but a new breed of highly sophisticated timber products, cutting-edge methods and technologies has ushered in a new dawn for timber. TRADA looks forward to networking at this event and sharing its knowledge and timber expertise with members and attendees”.
