15 November 2018 – Royal Geographical Society, London

TRADA is excited to introduce Better Timber Buildings, a stimulating one-day conference focused on inspiring and improving timber's competitive advantage by learning from our collective experience. Join us on 15 November 2018 at the Royal Geographical Society in the heart of London for a day of thought-provoking talks, Q&As, and energetic discussion.

The government's drive towards increasing housing development presents many opportunities for the timber industry. Now is the time to focus collaboratively on the importance of careful design and construction quality, alongside the potential for growth.

Run by TRADA in partnership with its service provider Exova BM TRADA, the conference is aimed at architects, engineers, suppliers and clients, and aspires to support individuals looking to hone their talents when it comes to designing superb structures in timber.

The day will involve four central sessions and attempts to unite inspirational case studies with practical hands-on guidance where high-performance is critical.

We’re delighted to announce that our keynote address will be given by Anthony Thistleton, a founding Partner of Waugh Thistleton Architects, who will take the stage to discuss Structural timber in the 2020s: key priorities for the sector. Not only is Anthony a passionate advocate of timber construction, he has spent over 20 years – through Waugh Thistleton Architects – fostering a reputation for truly beautiful, sustainable buildings.
