Reference
EC Quality of Life Programme
Duration
Start Date: March 2000
Finish Date: February 2003
Background
This project concerns the further harmonisation of test methods for wood-based panels leading to more efficient and reliable use. This should make the products more competitive, improve confidence in their use and lead to an increased market for panels.

The work is supported under the European Commission’s Quality of Life section of the Fifth Framework Programme. It involves partners from UK, Denmark, Germany Finland and Portugal and is led by BRE.

Project Aim
The main aim of the project is to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of wood-based panels used in construction through the development of improved test methods and a better understanding of their long-term behaviour. The results will be used to further integrate the design and test methodology for wood-based panels at the European level.
