Background

Timber frame construction has had good success penetrating a number of commercial sectors, e.g. motels, student accommodation, pubs, schools, etc. The market share for timber frame is currently increasing with much growth centered on London and the South East.

Project Aim

A major six storey timber frame development is underway in Central London. As the new project team has progressed through the various stages of concept, design, engineering, manufacture and erection a number of lessons have been learnt. These need to be captured for the benefit of the project teams and future teams before, as will inevitably happen, the team disperses and memories fade. Achieving this is the principal objective of this project.
