Present knowledge and guidance concerning traditional 'thin bond' adhesives is
not relevant to many modern applications requiring 'gap filling' adhesives. There is no
established classification or design guidance for the timber industry on the use of
specialised adhesives for practical construction purposes.
To provide a classification and user selection guide for gap-filling adhesives,
understanding and comparing performance of different adhesives. Demonstration of a
workable and usable system of structural adhesive performance classification and selection
basis.
