Forest Industries Training Centre (FITC)
Project aims
To establish the forest industries training centre in Mutare, Zimbabwe together with a ‘training of trainers’ programme.

Activities
- Review of industrial training systems including technical, vocational and industrial attachments in SADC countries, funding arrangements and conditions for release of industrial workers for training
- Review of relevant courses and syllabi of appropriate training systems
- Recommendation of industrial training courses and systems for FITC
- Training of trainers (and lecturers) in different aspects of forest industries
- Supply of relief consultant lecturers
- Review of plant specification and machinery layout
Outputs
- Analysis of curricula in order to realise the aims of FITC and the design of appropriate training packages in all areas relating to forest industries
