Project aims

To establish the forest industries training centre in Mutare, Zimbabwe together with a ‘training of trainers’ programme.

Review of industrial training systems including technical, vocational and industrial attachments in SADC countries, funding arrangements and conditions for release of industrial workers for training
Review of relevant courses and syllabi of appropriate training systems
Recommendation of industrial training courses and systems for FITC
Training of trainers (and lecturers) in different aspects of forest industries
Supply of relief consultant lecturers
Review of plant specification and machinery layout

Analysis of curricula in order to realise the aims of FITC and the design of appropriate training packages in all areas relating to forest industries
