- Provision of guidance on overall engineering design and materials/equipment specifications
- Commissioning of test rig and implementation of test programme for bridge panels
- Identification of ancillary and infrastructure requirements
- Development of launching procedure
- Investigation of appropriate pressure treatment technology
- Identification of suitable timber species
- Supervision of and training in bridge component manufacture
Outputs
- Erection of demonstration bridge
- Preparation of two training videos
- Production of a fully illustrated construction manual
- Preparation of a report identifying scope for future development of bridge system in line with national bridge-building policy
- Organisation of an in-country seminar on timber engineering for 12 engineers and technicians
