TRADA Technology updates ‘definitive’ windows manual
TRADA Technology will publish next month Wood windows: designing for high performance, the third edition of its definitive design manual for architects, manufacturers and contractors, written by Senior Consultant Architect Patrick Hislop RIBA.
Changes in the Building Regulations and new codes of practice, such as the Code for Sustainable Homes, are already having a significant effect on window design. The publication has therefore been extended to include guidelines on changes to statutory requirements, as well as specification, design detailing, performance, glazing, fittings, finishes, installation and maintenance requirements. The addition of colour photographs and new line illustrations reflects the range of options now available to designers.
The manual outlines significant changes to traditional design methods and gives best practice guidance on delivering the higher performance increasingly demanded of wood windows. ‘With modern factory painting and glazing, wood windows offer a relatively low maintenance solution,‘ said Patrick Hislop. ‘In TRADA's experience, architects are increasingly specifying wood windows for their appearance, sustainability and performance against these ever-tougher specifications.'
Wood windows: designing for high performance costs £25.00 plus postage & packing to TRADA members and £45.00 plus postage & packing to non-members. Click here to order.
