Understanding EC5 critical as BS 5268 deadline looms
With barely two months to go before the coexistence period with BS 5268 ends, TRADA is urging members to pay heed to Eurocode 5 (EC5) or they will find themselves falling behind those who have embraced the European code. TRADA Technology is therefore offering practical workshops on EC5 to help promote a better understanding of the differences between the two design codes and how to apply EC5 effectively.
The workshops will be invaluable to both engineers and engineering technicians who are involved in design and/or checking and will take place at TRADA's High Wycombe headquarters from 9.30am - 4.30pm on:
Tuesday 9th February 2010
Tuesday 9th March 2010
The cost is £199 + VAT for TRADA members and £259 + VAT for non-members, to include a freecopy of Manual for design of timber building structures to Eurocode 5, a joint publication by TRADA and the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), also available separately from the TRADA Bookshop.
The workshops use practical worked examples to facilitate a better understanding of the intricacies involved and delegates have said this brings clarity to the issue. Printed worked examples are also included in the delegate fee.
TRADA Technology consultants have more than 50 years' engineering experience and can offer support on all aspects of EC5 including, design support, calculations and code interpretation. To contact the engineering team click here or telephone 01494 569600.
