We are delighted with the response from a questionnaire that was emailed to members recently regarding ’TRADA in the Regions’ events. As mentioned in the email, we plan to run informal eveningevents around the UK in 2005, which will be open to all and free for TRADA members.
We received feedback from over 200 members, 97% of which were in favour of the idea. Based on this feedback, we have decided to run the first two events in Central Scotland and East Anglia, where the response rate was greatest. These two events will take place in April.
Our aim is to make the events informative and enjoyable, as well as a great chance to meet a wide variety of people in your region who are interested in timber - including architects, engineers, contractors, joinery companies, timber traders, merchants and manufacturers.
The events will consist of a seminar on ’Contemporary Timber Buildings’ that will demonstrate a large range of timber buildings. There will also be plenty of mingling and networking opportunities over a buffet dinner.
Providing the events are successful, we hope to run six other events in early autumn. The most likely locations will be:
Banbury (M40 corridor)
Gatwick area
Bristol (M4/M5 interchange)
Haydock area (Northwest)
Yorkshire (M1/M62 interchange)
Central London
We are currently in the process of firming up details and will be in contact shortly. There will also be opportunities to sponsor these events. If you have any questions or are interested in sponsorship, please contact Charlotte Andrews on 01494 569622 or email
