Deadline extended for new ‘Market Development Award’
TRADA has extended the deadline to 2nd August 2010 for its new Market Development Award, part of TTJ's annual awards initiative.
The award is open to any company who on their own or in partnership has created a new market or expanded on an existing market in any way, perhaps by:
Developing a new product
Taking a product eg cladding and developing a ‘system', providing materials, fittings, finishes etc
Improving the supply chain to better meet market needs
Improving the breadth of offering eg manufacturing through to long-term maintenance
Carrying out further testing or certification to create new outlets for existing products, eg testing a security rated door for fire resistance
Removing legislative obstacles, combating prejudice or overcoming other actual or perceived barriers to the use of timber.
TRADA Membership & Marketing Manager Rupert Scott said, ‘Market development is at the very heart of TRADA's own forward strategy. The advances made in timber engineering and modified wood products in recent years are to be applauded. Product development goes hand in hand with market development, but there are other ways to grow and the new award will enable us to recognise excellence. The ultimate aim is to make it easy to specify timber.'
