Timber Expo 2012 – ‘building on success’

Timber Expo 2012 - which will be 50% bigger than this year's - is already almost 50% booked. International Timber/ Pasquill Timber Engineering have signed up as joint Platinum sponsors once more and James Latham has increased its sponsorship from Silver to Gold.
As TRADA Marketing Manager Rupert Scott explained, ‘Designed to provide a unique opportunity for dialogue, networking and forging new business links, Timber Expo more than fulfilled its potential and our expectations as organisers, enabling the timber sector to show the world what, collectively, it has to offer.'
More than 4,000 industry professionals, including architects, engineers, contractors and local authorities, attended Timber Expo 2011 and feedback has been very positive, with 94% of those who responded to the show questionnaire saying they would visit the next event. As soon as the Ricoh Arena closed its doors on the show in September, however, it was time to look afresh at all facets of Timber Expo and start laying the foundations for 2012. ‘If the focus of our marketing strategy for the launch event was to bring exhibitors on board, in 2012 we will have the visitor firmly in our sights,' he stressed.
‘We will not lose sight of the fact, however, that the creativity of exhibitors was one of the reasons for the show's success. They captured the essence of timber, demonstrating its structural and design potential.'
And TRADA will again work closely with trade associations to enable them to use Timber Expo as a platform for meetings with members and specifiers. Mr Scott added, ‘One of the key components of Timber Expo is networking. Even in this electronic age there is no substitute for face to face discussion and Timber Expo 2012 will provide even more opportunities for exchanging ideas and doing business.'
