Constructing Excellence Bristol Club hosts free UKTFA seminar
TRADA Membership & Marketing Manager Rupert Scott will speak on ‘The benefits of timber frame construction' at a UK Timber Frame Association event, Building towards a more sustainable future, in Bristol on Wednesday 18th January 2012.
UKTFA Chief Executive Andrew Carpenter said, ‘Timber frame construction offers sustainability, flexibility and affordability. More builders, architects and developers in all sectors are turning to the unique benefits of timber frame.'
The free seminar, hosted by the Constructing Excellence Bristol Club, gives delegates the opportunity to learn about the many practical advantages of timber frame. Guest speakers include Craig White on ‘Decarbonising construction‘ and Jason Collard on ‘Skanska's sustainable housing solutions'.
A TRADA board member and founding partner in architects White Design, Mr White is also Design Advice Consultant with the Carbon Trust and works with dBERR on the Low Carbon Buildings Programme. Mr Collard, Development Director of Skanska UK Ltd, has worked in the property industry for more than 20 years and specialises in the development of residential and mixed-use projects in both rural and urban locations. Prior to joining Skanska, he was Managing Director of Urban Splash South-West.
The programme will also include short presentations by UKTFA members Sidey and Frame UK.
