Models with a difference on TRADA Interbuild stand
The TRADA stand in the Timber Zone at Interbuild will be buzzing with activity, including a full seminar programme, guided tours and models of timber frame detailing and the innovative Screedflo dB acoustic flooring system.
Seminar topics include Airtightness testing for Part L, A specifiers guide to certified timber, Building in Oak Frame, Code for sustainable homes explained, Conservation & restoration of wood in historical buildings, Contemporary wood buildings, Innovations in wood - wood modifications, Plywood CE Marking and its implications, Site-based Management plans, Timber Frame for school buildings and Wood products for structural use.
The rolling programme will be delivered by TRADA experts over the five days of the show. Each individual talk will take around 30 minutes, followed by a short question & answer session. To view the full programme click here.
TRADA consultants will lead guided tours around the Timber Zone at regular intervals - visit the TRADA stand J95/K90 on the day of your visit to check times and to book your place.
New this year, are models on the stand to illustrate the finer points of design and construction.
The timber frame model shows external walls, party walls, intermediate floors and party floors, as well as the junctions of these elements, illustrating improved air tightness and thermal details to meet new regulations and codes.
The innovative Screedflo dB acoustic flooring system was awarded the BM TRADA Certification Q-Mark for Engineered Flooring. The certificate was presented at Interbuild last year.
The certification, unusually, covers three branded I-Joists. The system can be used in timber frame, masonry or renovation projects and consists of layers of acoustic foam, high-density fibreboard and Screedflo Anhydrite screed. Not only does this produce a very solid feeling floor with excellent acoustic performance, but it is the only system of its type to be certified for use with underfloor heating.
The show takes place at Birmingham's NEC from 26th - 30th October. Invitations to a members only cocktail evening on the TRADA stand on Wednesday 29th October will be issued in the near future.
