Prepare for EC5: new span tables and workshops
 In preparation for the transition from BS 5268 to Eurocode 5 at the end of March next year, TRADA Technology has published an EC5 version of its essential reference for engineers, ‘ Span tables for solid timber members in floors ceilings and roofs for dwellings'. Workshops will also be available to support designers.
Eurocode 5 span tables 3rd edition will provide reference tables for common timber uses, such as floor joists or rafters, listing the maximum span for a range of timber sections, arranged by use and strength class. It costs £18.50 for TRADA members and £27.00 for non-members. In addition, the new version may be purchased with the second edition at a discounted rate of £25.00 and £45.00 respectively, with an additional £2.50 saving on P & P within the UK. The Design to Eurocode 5 workshops staged by TRADA Technology will be of interest to engineers and engineering technicians and will take place at TRADA's High Wycombe headquarters on 9th February and 9th March 2010, from 9.30am - 4.30pm.
Cost is £199 + VAT for TRADA members and £259 + VAT for non-members, to include a free copy of Manual for design of timber building structures to Eurocode 5, a joint publication by TRADA and the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE). Printed worked examples will also be distributed free of charge.
