Beat the recession with FREE frameCHECK training

Timber Frame training frameCHECK√, TRADA Technology's timber frame team, are offering free delegate places on their 2009 training programme. For every delegate place booked at full price, a second place on the same course is offered free of charge*. In addition, 10% discount is available on related publications, if purchased at the time of booking.

Head of frameCHECK√ Robin Lancashire said, ‘We understand that companies are torn between curbing expenditure and investing in training. Demand for ever higher building performance, to meet enhanced thermal and acoustic requirements alone, mean that manufacturers, contractors and specifiers cannot stand still. Timber frame will continue to take a solid share of the market, but with every penny under scrutiny, it is even more important to get it right first time.'

The following courses will be delivered at TRADA Technology's High Wycombe headquarters:

  • TF1: Timber frame - The whole story - practical information on all aspects of timber frame. It covers key areas of construction and is aimed at appraisers, designers, managers, manufacturers and builders, to give a better overall understanding of the timber frame industry.  Delegates are encouraged to ask specific questions.  Duration 9:30 - 16:30.
  • TF2: Timber frame buildings - design & build. Updating your technical knowledge - focuses on the important link between good design and build quality in achieving high performance timber frame buildings. Design requirements and designs typical to timber frame will be explained and the course stresses that knowledgeable construction management is vital to successfully constructing timber frame buildings. Duration 10.00 - 16:00.
  • TF3: Timber frame - manufacture & erection. Efficient modern methods - covering manufacturing and erection, to provide delegates with an understanding and appreciation of these closely linked processes. The reasons for material selection, sequence of manufacturing and component tolerances are explained. The importance of proper sole plate installation is reviewed; along with the effects that timber frame may have on follow up trades. Duration: 10:00 to 16:00.

The courses can also be delivered in-house at your premises. Please contact us for a discounted quotation.
