Timber industry ‘rises to the challenge’ of climate change
 The long-term consequences of climate change are probably the toughest test the construction industry has ever faced, writes Andrew Abbott, TRADA Chief Executive, in the foreword to the 2010 Timber industry Yearbook, ‘I believe timber will have an increasingly important role to play in making our environment, economy and society truly sustainable.' The Yearbook offers a snapshot of the solutions this ‘remarkably resilient industry' offers - including to measure and reduce carbon footprint, adapt to new building regulations and design rules, extend service life by specifying the right wood species and preserve our heritage. TRADA members will receive a copy of the Yearbook with the next members' mailing.
