Members have commended TRADA for keeping its finger on the pulse of new legislation, with firm interest in the 2008 regulations briefings to take place in London, Bristol, Halifax and High Wycombe from next month. The half-day seminars are aimed at senior directors and managers of timber-related companies, to help them identify the threats and opportunities inherent in changes to building regulations and codes.
TRADA's Regulations Consultant Rupert Scott said, ‘When you are running a business you may be aware that regulations and codes are changing, and quickly, but it can be hard to find the time to analyse what impact this might have on your company. The seminars will help you get to the heart of the issues you should address.'
The programme is broken down into three key areas, delivered over two sessions.
Session 1 will give an overview of the new and upcoming changes to building regulations and codes affecting the timber industry, touching on:
Code for Sustainable Homes
Structure
Fire
Acoustics
Energy Conservations
Flood resistance / resilience
Accessibility
Security
Water and drainage
Session 2 will cover The Green Guide and environmental profiles, followed by waste regulations. Both sessions will be repeated, giving delegates flexibility in how they structure their day. Lunch is provided at 12.30.
Option 1 Arrive 9.45 depart 13.30.
Option 2 Arrive 11.10 depart 14.30.
Option 3 Arrive 12.30 depart 15.50.
The seminars will take place in:
Bristol 23rd April
London 8th May
High Wycombe 3rd June
