What are the softwood grades?

There are a number of C strength classes (C14-C50) but C16 and C24 are the two most commonly found in most merchants.  C27, C30 and C35 are also available, but usually through special order and it is generally discouraged to specify these grades as they are not easy to source.  Higher softwood grades are currently not commercially available.
