 van Heyningen and Haward is an award winning design-led practice. Founded in 1983, we are now a partnership, owned and managed by four partners; Joanna van Heyningen, James McCosh, Meryl Townley and Chris Wilderspin. The partners are closely involved in the design and delivery of challenging and interesting projects where we can really add value.
This ethos has continued to inform the practice as we have grown, and underpins our ability to undertake a wide range of complex projects. We frequently use timber in our projects and have won several Wood Awards as well as RIBA and RICS Awards.
We are a general architectural practice and we provide normal architectural services (RIBA Plan of Work stage A – L) within a wide range of sectors. Work in the education sector generally contributes over half our turnover. All of the services we offer are covered by our quality management system and we tailor our service to suit the needs of particular clients.
