Description

This document addresses the design of structures made of cross-laminated timber (CL) to Ultimate Limit States and Serviceability Limit States in accordance with Eurocode 5 (BS EN 1995-1-1: 2004 and the National Annex). Guidance also includes span tables for preliminary sizing purposes.

This guidance document applies various British Standards based around Eurocodes and the relevant UK National Annexes. It applies to buildings in the UK and does not cover bridges or other civil engineering structures.

A Worked Example of a theoratical 12-storey CL structure is published separately to demonstrate how a structure of this height can be achieved using this material.
